BSDC 31204 DEVELOPMENT ECONOMICS (January 2023)
The course unit aims to promote understanding of the concept of development, the
various explanations of the causes of different levels of development and the potential
contribution of development economics to the furtherance of economic development
and poverty reduction in a national and global context. This course is designed to expose students to a range of analytical tools to examine in detail the key developmental issues in today's third world countries. The basic focus is how to eradicate mass poverty and improve opportunities for human welfare.
