The School of Arts and Social Sciences

The School is divided into two departments namely: the Department of Good Governance, Peace International Relations and The Department of Development Studies. The School boasts of being an academic unit with national and international reputation, and strongly believes in collaborative work. From the inception of the school and all through the merging process of the different departments, the school has envisaged itself and a bedrock of great initiatives, energies, and great innovations.  It offers both face to face programs and online courses that allow students to study from anywhere and at any time through the internet.

Department of Governance, Peace and International Relations

Governance and Peace Studies is one of the four Departments of the School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS). The Department has a Board which meets regularly to plan for and review the progress of the department. Membership of the board includes appointed staff. Students on some occasions are called upon to be represented in case of matters of interest that needs their attention and contribution.

Subject to the University Charter and Statutes, the Board of the Department is responsible, under the authority of Senate and within the policy agreed by Senate, for organizing, regulating and directing the academic work within the Department in teaching and learning, research and community engagement.
