The world today is witnessing rapid development that lead to various changes in people’s way living. There has been wide spread urbanization, changes in technology, economic and culture changes. All these changes come with some level of stress that requires people to use different strategies to survive in a changing world. Unfortunately, the number of people continuing to use unhealthy methods of coping by abusing substances, alcohol and other addictive behaviours are increasing.
This course will provide an introduction to the assessment and treatment for use of Substances and other dependencies, with emphasis on the application of specific counseling strategies used to manage these dependencies.
