This course prepares pre-service teachers to competently teach Agriculture within a competence-based curriculum framework. It examines the aims of teacher education and Agriculture education, the Science-Technology-Society relationship, and interdisciplinary linkages. Emphasis is placed on interpreting the Agriculture syllabus, developing learner-centred schemes of work and lesson plans, and managing teaching and learning records. Through microteaching, students practise appropriate approaches, methods and techniques, apply science process skills, and reflect on their professional practice to enhance effective and contextually relevant Agriculture teaching.
