Geography Teaching Methods II (2022)

Course Description:

      This second phase of methodology is taught in preparation for their last (second) school practice after the review of the first school practice experiences with a major focus on the Principles of effective geography teaching, how to teach geography through fieldwork principles, evaluation in Geography, formulation of an exam blueprint, creating a Geography atmosphere in the School and finally the stipulating the responsibilities of a geography teacher 

Course Aim:

            By the end of the course, the students should be able to;

a.         Demonstrate both in theory and practice that he/she is an all-round effective secondary geography teacher

b.         Philosophies about Geography as an important medium of secondary Education.

c.          Teach and popularize Geography in schools effectively.

By the end of the course of study the student teacher should be able to:

i.          Identify the role Geography Education plays in the learner’s life.

Explain with justification the relationship between Geography objectives, content organization and evaluation.
