Special Populations

Who are they?
People who might be more sensitive or susceptible to exposure to hazardous substances or natural calamities or chronic disease because of factors such as age, occupation, sex, or behaviours (e.g., cigarette smoking). Children, pregnant women, and older people are often considered special populations.

They may also be individuals from economically disadvantaged families, including low-income youth and adults. Individuals preparing for nontraditional fields.

A people with any form of disability – people with sensory, mobility, or mental disability or with another medical condition
