This course focuses on Audiological elements that support the education of the deaf and hard of hearing students. Students will become aware of the specific needs of deaf and hard of hearing learners. Deaf and hard of hearing students must be provided with appropriate support and deaf-specific experience in order to achieve a successful school career. Teachers can make the difference in educating these students (general goal of the curriculum ‘Teaching deaf learners). In this course: The students will learn to understand the differences in hearing loss and the impact on communication and education. Thereby they are able to interpret the audiological data and to adjust their teaching style to the specific needs of a deaf and hard of hearing learners in their classroom.
