In this information era and drive to having a competitive edge in order to succeed, appropriate determination and management of costs is crucial. Besides this, cost information can act as a guide to various management decisions.
The aim of this course is to expose students to the principles, methods and techniques used in determining costs and managing them as well. Students are also expected to use the cost information to analyze and advise on the various business scenarios and also make relevant decisions that will be aimed at improving the performance of business organizations.
On completion of this course participants should be able to demonstrate the ability to identify and appreciate cost accounting principles, techniques and methods which provide managers with information that is useful for planning, organizing, cost control as well as decision making.
