The procurement function that was initially considered to be a cost center is now one of the most profit generating centers within organizations. The share of the procurement spend in the overall revenue is increasing because of the developments such as ‘back to core business’, outsourcing, specialization, quality management techniques, value analysis and engineering techniques. This course will therefore enable students understand tactics that can be deployed and how procurement can recessionary be handled within today’s competitive environment.
