This course introduces the students to the basics and foundation of Financial Accounting & Reporting. Financial accounting is the basic means of recording and reporting financial information in a business. It explores the structure of the accounting system: the methods and approaches in use. The course concentrates on the way accounting information is processed, the principles that underline preparation of financial reports and how to record business transactions with focus on financial accounting system. It brings to light the information needs of users, the quality required of accounting information/reports and statements necessary for stakeholders to make informed decisions.
