The course focuses on the capture, processing, storage and management of geographical data through GIS. Further, the course gives an insight into the applicability of GIS in geographical and environmental studies. The aim of the course is to enable the students to acquire the general knowledge of the principles of GIS and its application.
Course Aim:
Understand the principles of Geographical Information Systems, spatial data entry techniques, basic analytical geography Information techniques, and geo-referencing systems.
By the end of the course, the students should be able to:
1. Explain the foundations of GIS/RS
2. Illustrate the various forms of GIS.
3. Analyze how data is captured under GIS.
4. Discuss the applications of GIS
