MFM4105 FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY (MA MFM)
For any organization to remain relevant to the different stakeholders, financial reporting and accountability usually take a center stage. The way financial information is gathered, processed and disseminated for decision making is changing due to the rapid evolution in the technology and customer demands. These advances created a challenging new environment for finance reporting systems. The role of finance accountants continues to undergo major changes. Accountants are no longer scorekeepers of past performance. They have become value-adding members of management teams, creating information vital for enhancing operational excellence, and for formulating and implementing new strategies.

Aim and objectives
This module aims at exploring in a critical approach the concepts, principles, frameworks and systems of accounting as a value creating aspect of organizations.

By the end of the module participants will:
 Explain finance reporting and accountability terminologies & concepts;
 Describe the accounting information system, cycle, procedures and internal controls in the context of the organizations where they work;
 Analyze the double entry to generate accounts;
 Generate and interpret the trial balance
 Prepare and interpret financial statements;
