The main purpose of school practice PGDE is to allow students get an experience of their professional roles as they prepare to teach students at Ordinary and /or Advanced Levels. The duration of school practice for PGDE is normally longer than that of undergraduate student teachers, with an additional number of weeks. Practice involves teaching and carrying out of some other school-related activities, in a selected secondary school(s). This is why it is called school practice, not teaching practice. This preliminary course at the University entitled; Guide to School Practice and Supervision PGDE helps student-teachers before going for school practice to bring together and apply the various principles and skills about teaching and learning, enabling students offering different subjects to collaborate and share experiences.
