SCH2024 BA BSc GUIDE TO SCHOOL PRACTICE AND SUPERVISION/ SCHOOL PRACTICE 1 (January 2024)
School Practice I is the first school practice that students undertake to prepare them teach students at Ordinary and /or Advanced Level. The main purpose of the first school practice is to allow students get an experience of their professional roles. The minimum duration of this school practice is six (6) weeks of teaching, and carrying out of some other school-related activities as found suitable, in a selected secondary school. This is why it is called school practice, not teaching practice. During the first school practice, each student-teacher should be support-supervised by at least two lecturers from UMU. Before going for school practice in secondary schools, student teachers are to do a preliminary course at the University entitled; Guide to School Practice and Supervision, which would help students to bring together and apply the various principles and skills about teaching learnt in their first and second year.
