The program aims to extend the knowledge, expertise and skill of students through the application of research to business problems and issues. The sector of higher education in Uganda has expanded the number of students and the number of universities in Uganda has increased greatly. But little has been done to redesign and develop new doctorate programs, especially in the business field. Most of theDoctorate programs in private and public institutions in Uganda focus on PhD training by research. Previous researchers suggested that to meet the demands of students, employers and industries, universities need to develop new postgraduate programs (Gill & Hoppe, 2009; Neumann, 2005). Although there are a number of PhD holders in almost all the universities in Uganda, their numbers are not enough. Uganda, today, needs more people with advanced degrees, who have ability to think critically, train at advanced levels, create and advance knowledge.
