The course introduces Master of Education Students to curriculum design and development. This process is essential because it will enable students understand that curriculum guides the implementation of formal education globally (Bediako, S., 2019), and curriculum itself can be influenced, among other things, by the needs of their society: “Every time there are changes or developments happening around the world, the school curricula are affected. There is a need to update them to address the society’s needs,” (Mohanasundaram K., 2018). Therefore, in this course unit, students will learn theories and models of curricula design and development in order to apply them to formal education curricula design and development in their countries. The course will also help students become the best teachers who can be flexible and resourceful in designing, developing and implementing curricula in learning environments for different students in different contexts.
