Psychology deals with the daily human behavior and mental processes (cognition). It’s therefore important that students of counselling get grounded into this important subject. The course is designed to introduce students to basic concepts in psychology and to offer an understanding of the relevance of psychology in our day to day life. But most importantly, students will need to appreciate the relevance of psychology in their professional growth as counselors. The course puts emphasis on grounding theoretical approaches and perspectives in psychology which will offer a platform for the study of other psychology course units.
