The course unit provides a general introduction to economics theory. It links economic theory to the general work of social Workers and Administrators in both micro and macroeconomic environments. We shall study the introduction to economics, micro economics and macro economics. The focus will be to link economic theory to the day to day practice of social workers. The course is grounded in both positive and normative approaches to economic problems with the normative one being emphasized to provide cutting edge solutions to social economic challenges in our societies.
The course will be delivered through the lecture method, discussions and other approaches. Course work and Final examination shall both contribute to the total mark you will score at the end of the course unit.
