This course is split between learning how to study effectively and learning how to write what the students have studied.
Given the importance of English as the official language of communication in Uganda, and as the medium of instruction in all institutions, this course is intended to sharpen the students grasp of English Language Grammar rules and application to enable them cope with all university programmes, which require accurate use of language.
This course will help the students cultivate good study habits that enable them to be successful in their various fields of study and in life.
By the end of this course, students should be able to;
- appreciate the concept of listening in and outside the classroom
situation.
- take and write good notes.
- engage effectively in academic reading and writing.
- evaluate diverse sources of information.
- use the grammar of English correctly in formal and informal
communication.
