This course provides an introduction to the nature and scope of public administration and describes the various disciplines that culminate in the development of the profession. It explores the relationship between politics and administration as well as the difference between business administration and public administration. Students are introduced to the functions and roles of government and ethical issues in public administration. It covers the theory of bureaucracy and further introduces theories of public administration reforms. Generally, the course provides an overview of the field of public administration and serves as a base for other courses/courses.
