
Course Description
Traditionally, men’s experiences and priorities were recognised as representative of all human beings which resulted into the under representation and under valuing of the vital contribution women make towards the developmental transformation of society. This course applies a gender lenses to the field of public administration, looking at issues of status, power, leadership, legitimacy, and change. Also included is an examination of women’s historical progress towards their current status in state and local governments. The nature of the organizational reality, women’s experience and their place in society at large as shaped by the administrative state.
